Rani Lakshmi Bai was born on 19th November 1828 in Varanasi. Her determination and courage were evident from her childhood. She was married to Raja Gangadhar Rao of Jhansi and after his death, she took the throne of Jhansi under her control.
Rani Lakshmi Bai played a crucial role in the revolt of 1857 against the British rule. She took the command of her kingdom and led her troops bravely against the British. Even in her personal life, she was an epitome of courage and resilience.

With marriage, Rani’s life took a turn. She adopted a son after the death of her husband and named him Damodar Rao. However, the British rulers refused to acknowledge the young prince as the legal heir to the throne. This event was the turning point in the life of Rani Lakshmi Bai. She decided to fight against the British to reclaim her throne.
This brave queen of Jhansi, who once played with dolls, was now ready to play with swords. Her courage can be reflected in her famous slogan, “I will not give my Jhansi,” representing her determination and patriotism.
