James Gosling is the father of Java. He is a computer scientist and software engineer. He is best known for being the creator of the Java programming language.

He began his career in 1975 as an intern at Amdahl Corporation, where he worked on operating systems for mainframes. From there, he went on to work at Tandem Computers on the Tandem Network Operating System (NOS), which eventually became Tandem’s version of Unix. He then moved on to Sun Microsystems, where he worked on compilers for the programming language C++.

The language was designed to allow developers to write programs that could be run on multiple platforms without having to rewrite them for each platform’s native code.
