Good day to everyone present here. Today, we’ll journey through a fascinating story, the story of India.
India’s history starts from an era even before we started writing, the Stone Age. People used to live in caves, hunt animals, and gather fruits. The Indus Valley Civilization, known for its planned cities and impressive architecture, came next. Harappa and Mohenjo-Daro were the shining stars of this period.
Then came the Vedic Age, named after the four Vedas, religious texts that are still important today. During this age, people started farming and living in communities. The caste system, a system dividing society into different groups, was born.
Next, we move to the era of empires. In the Magadha kingdom, rulers like Chandragupta Maurya and Ashoka the Great emerged. They built strong armies, set up laws, and spread messages of peace and non-violence.
The Gupta Empire, following the Mauryas, is called the Golden Age of India. Why? Because during this time, there were great advancements in science, art, and literature. Aryabhata, a famous mathematician, even gave the world the concept of zero.

This period also marked the beginning of the caste system, a social structure that still impacts India today.
Next, we move to the Mauryan and Gupta Empires, known as the Golden Age of India. During this time, India was a global hub for arts, science, and culture. The Mauryan Emperor Ashoka spread Buddhism across Asia, while the Gupta period gave birth to the concept of zero and decimal system, changing the world of mathematics forever.
