Speech on World Oceans Day

Celebrated every year on June 8, World Oceans Day is a global event. It’s a day when people around the world appreciate the vastness and importance of seas.

You might wonder why we celebrate it. It’s simple! We need oceans for our survival. They give us food, oxygen, and even help control the climate.

1-minute Speech on World Oceans Day

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Today, we are gathering for a special day, World Oceans Day. This is a day when we honor the deep blue seas that surround our lands. More than just water, the oceans are home to countless creatures, big and small. They are a big part of our Earth’s nature, beauty, and yes, health too.

Our oceans do a lot for us. They give us food, like fish and shellfish. They help control the weather, so we don’t get too hot or too cold. They even give us air to breathe – did you know that every second breath we take is thanks to the ocean?

But our oceans are in trouble. People are littering and polluting them. We are taking too many fish and not leaving enough behind. This hurts all the sea creatures, and it hurts us too. If we don’t take care of the oceans, they can’t take care of us.

World Oceans Day is a chance to think about this. It’s a day to learn about the oceans and how we can help them. It’s a day to make a promise to do better. Even small steps, like not littering or using less plastic, can make a big difference.

So, let’s celebrate World Oceans Day together. Let’s take the time to thank the oceans for everything they give us. And let’s promise to do our part to keep them healthy and full of life. Because a world with healthy oceans is a world that’s healthy for all of us.

Thank you.

2-minute Speech on World Oceans Day

Hello everyone,

Today, we come together to celebrate a very special day, World Oceans Day. This is a day where we take a moment to think about our big, beautiful oceans. It’s like a birthday for the oceans, but instead of gifts, we give them love, care, and promise to protect them.

Why do we need to protect the oceans, you might wonder? Well, the oceans are like our best friends. They give us so many good things. They give us food like fish, they give us fun places to swim, and they even help make the air we breathe. But just like a best friend, they need our help too.

Our oceans are getting sick. They are filled with things that shouldn’t be there. Just like we don’t like our rooms filled with trash, the oceans don’t like being filled with trash either. We must help them by picking up our trash and not letting it end up in the ocean.

We should also remember that the animals that live in the sea are like the ocean’s family. If we hurt them by fishing too much or by throwing trash in their home, we hurt the ocean too. We wouldn’t want someone to hurt our family, right? So, we shouldn’t hurt the ocean’s family either.

World Oceans Day is not just about remembering the problems though. It’s about finding solutions too! We can all help. We can pick up trash when we see it, we can tell our friends and family not to throw trash in the ocean, and we can even join clubs or groups that help clean the ocean.

But most importantly, World Oceans Day is about understanding. We must understand how important the oceans are. They are not just big bodies of water. They are homes, they are providers, and they are friends.

So, let’s celebrate World Oceans Day with a promise. A promise to help our oceans. A promise to keep them clean. A promise to protect their family. And a promise to remind everyone we know how important our oceans are.

Because the ocean isn’t just a place, it’s a friend. And friends help each other. Let’s be the best friend we can be to our oceans. Happy World Oceans Day!
