Indian Newspapers – List of Famous Newspapers in India
There are more than 100000 registered publications and newspapers in India.
Yes, it’s actually right.
According to the Registrar of Newspapers for India (RNI), there are over 100,000 publications registered as of 31st March 2018. The official name of the RNI is Office of the Registrar of the Newspapers for India.
On the recommendation of the First Press Commission (1953) and by amending the Press and Registration of Books Act (1867), the RNI got established on 1st July 1956.
According to the Economic Times, after China, India has the second-largest newspaper market in the world with more than 99 million newspaper copies sold daily as of 2008.
And, India is the only market where print media is growing in all aspects – readership, circulation and geography; reports a newspaper.
In this article, I will be listing out all the famous Indian newspapers from all the famous languages along with their readership and circulation.

Wrapping it up
Dainik Jagran is the largest newspaper in India as per the readership with more than 20.258 million average readerships and Dainik Bhaskar is the largest as per the circulation with more than 4318377 copies sold every day.
The primary source of revenue of almost all the Indian newspapers is Advertising and only some amount is taken from the readers.
Of course, it won’t be possible to provide the names of all the Indian newspapers on the list, but I have tried my best to provide as much information as possible.
