Tirumalai Krishnamacharya — Father of Yoga

Tirumalai Krishnamacharya was a guru, yogi, and the father of modern yoga. Krishnamacharya was one of the first people to teach yoga in the West, and his innovative style helped popularize yoga as we know it today.

He traveled around India teaching people about how yoga can improve physical health while also helping them reach spiritual enlightenment through meditation techniques such as pranayama breathing exercises (which he invented).

Krishnamacharya also practiced Ayurveda—the science of life—and used it as a basis for many of his teachings. He believed that by combining these two disciplines into one practice, we could achieve better health and provide ourselves with a more holistic approach to living.

That’s it.
