Raja Ram Mohan Roy was a great champion of women’s rights, social reformer and rationalist. He is also known as the father of Indian Renaissance.

He was one of the first people to argue for the emancipation of women and the abolition of sati in India. He established the Brahma Samaj, a religious movement that aimed to reform Hinduism and remove the caste system.

He was also a social reformer who worked to abolish child marriage, polygamy, and the practice of widows burning themselves on their husbands’ funeral pyres.
