Nagendra Prasad Sarbadhikari is considered to be the father of Indian Football.
During his tenure the Indian football team was selected, trained and provided with equipment. He attended a conference organized by the All India Football Federation (AIFF) to promote soccer in India.
Sarbadhikari’s efforts resulted in bringing one of the oldest international tournaments, Durand Cup, to New Delhi for the first time. After its success, this cup has continued to be played every year since then.
