Subroto Mukherjee, known as Sqn Ldr. Mukherjee , was the father of Indian Air Force. In India, a person is considered to be a father of any thing if he/she borns many generations before and mainly work on it. Subroto Mukherjee worked on aviation in many forms from making aircraft wings to recruiting pilots.
The forefathers of Indian Air Force Panditji and Subroto Mukherjee, who laid the foundations for the modern Indian Air Force in 1932. The duo was involved in raising Reserve Group and Centre for training pilots, which is the root for India’s modern day Air Force Academy located at Hyderabad.
