Euclid - Father of Geometry

Euclid — Father of Geometry

Euclid was a Greek mathematician who lived in Alexandria, Egypt. He is considered to be the father of geometry, and he wrote many books that were used as textbooks in schools for centuries.

Euclid’s most famous work is his Elements, which is still used today as a reference for math problems. He also invented several proofs for geometry concepts such as parallel lines, triangles and squares.

In it, he attempted to prove that there are exactly five regular solids (the tetrahedron, cube, octahedron, dodecahedron, and icosahedron). He also worked on plane geometry and developed a theory of ratios in plane geometry.

That’s it.
