Dennis Ritchie — Father of C Programming Language

Dennis Ritchie was a computer scientist who helped develop the C programming language. He is widely considered to be the father of C, and his work has had an impact on almost every aspect of computing.

Ritchie was born in Bronxville, New York, and attended Harvard University where he studied physics. After graduating from Harvard, Ritchie went on to work at Bell Labs, which at the time was a research facility for AT&T. While working there, he began collaborating with Ken Thompson on a new programming language called B that would eventually become C.

In 1973, Dennis decided to leave Bell Labs and move to California with his family. This move allowed him to focus more on his personal life as well as continuing his career in computer science. After moving to California, Ritchie began working for Berkeley Computer Systems Group (BCSG), which later became known as Computer Communication Research Group (CCRG). During this time period he worked on projects related to Unix operating systems and TCP/IP networking protocols which are still used today by millions of people around the world.

That’s it.
